KALYANI

Kalyani is 30 and married with two children aged 8 and 10 years. She started her poultry enterprise with Nirdhan in May 2015 and since then has built a small coop to house her chickens and expand the number of birds she can keep. Before registering with Nirdhan, Kalyani did not work and her husband could only find casual jobs that did not provide a regular income. By selling her produce of eggs and chickens, Kalyani has been able to rent a weaving loom that she uses to make doormats. She is selling these at the local market and has increased the family’s income significantly.
