How has the programme helped her: Using the income gained from the poultry enterprise, Ria has paid the tuition fees of her younger sister who is in class 11. Any other money gained from the enterprise Ria has reinvested into her business by buying more toolkits in order to expand.
Challenges: She wants to have chickens which are older that are able to lay eggs but hasn’t been able to achieve this yet.
Future plans, targets and aspirations: Ria had to leave school after class 10 as there wasn’t the money available to continue to pay for her fees. Through the poultry enterprise, Ria would like to earn the income so that her three younger sisters can complete their education and not have to leave school like she did. When her son is old enough to go to school she would also like to be able to pay for his education.
